St. Augustine, Fl – Units from St. Johns County Fire Rescue were called to CiCi’s Restaurant in the Cobble Stone Plaza off SR312 when employees discovered smoke in the store.  Ladder 6 was assigned to ladder the roof and check for an origin while engine companies checked the interior.

Fire fighters from Ladder 6 reported that the smoke was coming from a belt on one of the roof top A/C units and was being blown into the duct work.  The unit was shut down and companies placed smoke ejectors in the building to remove the smoke.

PIO Jeremy Robshaw stated “the smoke coming from the belt got pulled into the a/c ducts and blown into the store. “  Another fire officer on scene said “it happens more often than you would think”.

Fire department officials release all the responding units about 20 minutes later and turned the building back over to the management of the store.  Damage estimates were not available at the time of this story.
