St. Augustine, Fl – While details are still scarse as to what started the fire, a local business was destroyed when a fire ripped through the building at Village Plumbing on Dobbs Road in St. Augustine on Sunday evening. Fire fighters from St. Johns County Fire Rescue and St. Augustine Fire Department battled the fire for 30 minutes before bringing it under control.
The fire apparently burned for sometime inside the building before being noticed by a neighbor who called the fire department upon noticing the fire. A ST. Johns County Deputy Sheriff arrived first to find the fire burning out of control inside the building. Fire department units arrived moments later to find the fire had vented itself through the center of the building.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by officials from St. Johns County Fire Rescue. There were no reported fire service or civilian injuries reported and the blaze was knocked down within 45 minutes of the first units arriving on scene. SJCFR PIO Jeremy Robshaw said “..details are still coming in and as soon as more information is available, it will be released.”
