Boater Declares Emergency On St. Johns River


St. Johns County, FL – Fire Fighters and the Marine Rescue Division from St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to the St. Johns River near the Shands Bridge for a boater in distress on Sunday.Fire Department officials said Sunday that a female boater declared an unknown emergency but before rescue units reached the boat, she was picked up by a passing boat. the incident occurred around 6:00 pm on Sunday and the boater was not injured in the incident.
